Gold Cup Incentive Award

Students of GCMTA teachers who participate in GCMTA performance events have the opportunity to accrue points toward winning an attractive gold cup.  Gold cups are awarded at 30 points, 60 points, and 100 points.  A plaque will be awarded to students reaching 200 points.  Teachers contribute $5 for each students’ award to allay the cost of these beautiful cups.  Orders are placed by the chair April 1 and June 1.

TEACHERS MUST FILL OUT THE GOLD CUP FORM FOR EACH EVENT IN ORDER FOR STUDENTS TO RECEIVE THE POINTS. 

Two points will be awarded for playing in non-adjudicated events (recitals, festivals, outreach recitals).  Six points will awarded for playing in a Master Class (and two points awarded for auditing a Master Class).  One point will be awarded for taking the MSMTA Theory Exam with a score of 70 or higher.  One point will be awarded for taking the MSMTA Keyboard Exam with 4 or more modules, Satisfactory or higher.  Five points will be awarded for passing the MSMTA High School Piano Recognition/Credit examination regardless of grade.

For GCMTA adjudicated events, points will be awarded on the following scale:

Superior +8
Superior7
Superior -6
Excellent +5
Excellent4
Excellent -3
Good and below2
