Judged Recital

A noncompetitive event – audience is important!  Students (of teacher members) play a minimum of 2 minutes of memorized music.  A carefully selected judge from outside the association listens, writes comments, and assigns a rating which can be applied toward Gold Cup points.  Literature requirements are the same as in other GCMTA events.  A student may use 2 pieces to reach the 2 minute minimum.  Emphasis is as always, on a polished, stylistic performance and encouragement for the performer.  The fee is per performance: ensembles of up to three players may enroll for the same rate as soloists and divide the fee amongst themselves.

Guidelines for Recitals

GCMTA members in good standing are eligible to enter their students in GCMTA events.  If you wish to enter your child or student into a GCMTA event, and are not a member, please contact our Membership Chair, and join here.
