Spring Piano Solo Competition

Deadline for entry is IN HAND March 23. Students entering this event will pre-record their two pieces, upload them to youtube, and send the links to the chair by April 14.  The judge will judge from the youtube videos, record comments and announce the winners, and the final "recital" will involve a zoom event with youtube playlist, including the announcement of the winners.  Students will be expected to attend their age group's competitive recital on April 24. Prerecorded Videos for 2021: For 38 years, MSMTA has sponsored the High School Piano Exams in cooperation with the Maryland Department of Education.  The exam is for piano students in grades 9-12 in public, non-public, or home taught schools who are residents of Maryland and are studying piano privately on a regular basis during the school year.  Passing students are awarded a certificate of achievement at their school.
